Our Story

Honey's Coffee Company is one of the first coffee brands founded in the nation's capital Washington, DC. It's a coffee brand that's women-owned, sister- owned, and black-owned. It was visualized when we ran a small cafe/coffee shop with our brand of baked goods Honey's Desserts. We also served organic coffee roasted from the Eastern Shore in Maryland. This is where we explored in-depth the business of coffee. And the idea of having our own brand of coffee was created.

Co-Founders Marie Stanley, and Cathy Stanley, collectively have backgrounds in various industries, such as, Television Production, Event Management, Business Management, and Concert Promotion. In our cafe/coffee shop we grew a passion for making coffee drinks like, espresso shots, lattes, and cappuccinos, plus just a good cup of drip coffee. We studied where the best coffee is grown, the roasting techniques, and the best coffee to  serve to our customers. We learned about the coffee business as we actually worked in it.

Turning the page in late 2021, we decided to make our business all about Honey's Coffee Company. The name of our business Honey's came from a nickname our family called our grandfather Eugene McCabe from New Haven, Connecticut. The creators of Honey's Coffee Company got their entrepreneurial spirit and skills from their mother side of the family. Plus their fathers side of the family with Caribbean island roots from Nevis in the West Indies. Although desserts are still coming on the menu in the future, our coffee brand is at the top of our list. Our beans are roasted by some of the best and knowledgeable coffee roasters in the country. And our coffee beans come from farms in many different parts of the world.
